japan tobacco – smoking clean
Actually, there are many, many of these ads, but the top two were chosen, just because they came out clear and the one above, which is really unclear (sorry!) is just the funniest: "Before passing gas I look behind me. But I don't bother when I'm smoking.
Japan, is joining the nonsmoking pack. This was at first something I kind of feared, not only because at the time I was on about 20 a day, but because, to be honest, the most interesting people I have met are either smokers or ex-smokers.
As it turns out, the banning of smoking on public streets and in many buildings has done us all a big favor, and not just in the health sense. Most buildings now have special smoking areas (often with ashtrays that suck the fumes out of the air) and Japan Tobacco have set up various smoking areas with ashtrays at public spaces in town (they even have had a smoking bus travel around for smokers to smoke on, see next entry).
Which all means that the smokers are now conveniently lumped together for us to find the interesting people to talk to.
